Pantone has chosen the softness and friendliness of the velvety colour Peach Fuzz to set the palette that will define the decor trends of the coming year.

For the past twenty-five years, the Pantone Color Institute has been combining the science of colour with its emotional components to determine the trends that will influence various industries such as fashion, make-up, design and interior decoration in the coming months. According to the institution, 2024 will be infused with the softness and warmth of this delicate orange hue.

"With this year's Pantone Colour of the Year 2024, we are seeing a greater focus on communities and people around the world reflecting on how they want to live and evaluating what is important - that is, the comfort of being close to those we love. This colour's warm and welcoming embrace carries a message of affection, and its cosy tenderness unites people and enriches the soul," says Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute.

The peach colour can be described as a mix of orange and pink pigments with a subtle hint of yellow. However, the appeal of Pantone Peach Fuzz goes beyond the visual aspect, engaging the rest of the senses, evoking the velvety feel of the fruit, its sweet taste and the memory of the warmer months.

All these elements come together in a friendly colour that is able to convey the perfect dose of softness and warmth, creating a soothing and calming interior. Peach Fuzz is a warm shade that reinforces a sense of comfort, but can also add light and energy to a dull space.
The shade has been described as 'a velvety, soft peach whose all-encompassing spirit enriches the mind, body and soul.

The colour is back. This does not mean that neutral shades such as grey or monochrome will suddenly disappear. Only that we will see much more playful and creative colour palettes in interior colour trends in 2024.
